Quilt Categories
1 – Hill City Quilt Guild Challenge:
Heart of the Hills Quilters members only
2 – Bed Quilt/Throws:
Designed for use on a bed or snuggling. Machine Quilted.
3 – Wall Quilt:
Designed for display on a wall, not intended for use on a bed. Includes pieced quilts, pictorial, etc.
4 – Applique:
Quilts where applique is the predominant feature over any other technique.
5 – Hand Quilted and/or Vintage:
6 – Modern/Art Quilt: Modern quilt: defined as the use of bold colors and prints, high contrast and graphic areas of solid color, improvisational piecing, minimalism, expansive negative space. Art quilt defined as original design using mixed media. (No pattern used)
7 – Baby/Children Quilt:
Quilts made for babies, children, grandchildren.
8 – Miscellaneous:
Table runners, table toppers, mug rugs (Check fiber arts categories for other items not listed here) For example, rugs, baskets and totes.
9 – Juniors – Up to Age 18:
Quilts made by children under the age of 18.
10 – Embroidery Quilts:
Quilts where the predominate design element is machine or hand embroidery. Choose machine or hand embroidery on the form.
