Quilt Show Judged by the People

One of the most unique features of the Hill City Quilt & Fiber Arts Show is our Public Voting System. Rather than using a panel of judges, attendees cast their votes for their favorite quilts and fiber arts entries. This popular vote approach encourages participation and allows visitors to help select the award-winning entries, including the coveted Best of Show award.

Over 300 Entries on Display

Explore an impressive collection of quilts and fiber arts exhibited throughout the Hill City School Gym and along scenic Main Street. From traditional and modern quilts to weaving, spinning, felting, and more, the show celebrates the creativity and craftsmanship of fiber artists from across the region.

More Than Just a Quilt Show

Visitors can participate in voting, enjoy hands-on activities for children, and discover the art of quilting through interactive exhibits designed for all ages.

Vendor Mall

Browse a variety of vendors offering fabrics, sewing supplies, quilting tools, patterns, and unique handcrafted items. It’s the perfect place to find inspiration for your next project.

Special Events

The weekend also includes special events such as the Saturday evening dinner, trunk show, and bed turning. These popular gatherings provide an opportunity for quilters to share the stories behind their creations. Advance reservations are required.

Show Rules & Guidelines

🌟 Early Bird Registration

Register online or by mail. Entry forms received electronically or postmarked by August 1, 2026 will be entered into a drawing for a sewing machine!

We encourage online registration whenever possible to help reduce volunteer workload.

ℹ️ Important Information

• All entries must be registered before the deadline.

• Please ensure entry information is complete and accurate.

• Entries may not be removed before the scheduled pick-up time.

• We appreciate your patience during pick-up as entries are taken down, bagged, and accounted for.

The Hill City Quilt & Fiber Arts Show celebrates the creativity, skill, and artistry of our exhibitors through awards selected by the visitors who attend the show. Every attendee has the opportunity to vote for their favorite entries, making our awards a true reflection of community appreciation.

Quilts & Fiber Arts will receive ribbons and Best of Show Prize.

$500 Cash Prize

The most prestigious award of the show, Best of Show is presented to the entry receiving the highest number of votes from attendees. This award recognizes exceptional creativity, craftsmanship, and visual impact.

⭐ Hill City Choice Award

The Hill City Choice Award recognizes an entry that captures the spirit and charm of Hill City and the Black Hills community. This special award celebrates artistic excellence and visitor appeal.

🎖 Category Awards

Ribbons are awarded in each category based on public voting.

Awarded to the entry receiving the highest number of votes in its category.

🥈 Second Place

Awarded to the entry receiving the highest number of votes in its category.
